Justin + Stacy Same Day Premiere

Happy Monday!

I'm really loving these Same Day Premieres!  If you follow this blog, then you already know that I've been offering it as a new service.  Since it is still new I'm offering a great deal on it, please email me for more information. 

Justin and Stacy were kind enough to let me try out my new service on them.  It was definitely a hit!  The ceremony and reception went down at the Thursday Club in Point Loma.  It was great seeing lots of friends there and meeting some new people too.  I had the pleasure of working with these fine folks:

Tamara + Aaron Wedding Film

What a beautiful wedding this was!  The Rancho Bernardo Inn is quite the place.  Tammy and Aaron are quite the couple, it looked like a lot of fun!  I was able to make it to the very end of the reception but I wish I could have been there for the whole day.  There was a really funny moment during the ceremony - "use the force".  Many thanks to the Jackson/Powell crew! 

Kelli + Sam Same Day Premiere

Good afternoon internet!

I'm really excited for this post.  Why you ask?  It marks the beginning of a new service Aqua Vivus Productions is offering called the "Same Day Premiere".  It is something that we have been working the kinks out of for the past year - now it's ready to roll!  The Same Day Premiere is so awesome words cannot describe it, but I'll try.  We shoot the wedding how we normally do, capturing all the best moments and getting as creative as possible.  Then right after the ceremony one of our talented editors starts piecing it together while our shooters cover the reception.  The night goes on and before you know it, it's time to leave - but not so fast, this is when it's time to show the Same Day Premiere!  We'll work with the DJ and MC for a seamless transition into the video.  It's quite an emotional experience to re-live the day with all the people you love most watching along with you.  It's pretty much the perfect ending to a perfect day.  After several more hugs, the night is over and everyone goes home...but we're not done yet.  We put the video online for everyone to enjoy the very next day!  It's the perfect way to connect with those who couldn't make it to the wedding. Now onto the video at hand:

Kelli and Sam were so awesome!  They agreed to be our test subjects for this Same Day Premiere and I think they still weren't quite sure what they were getting into.  Of course, they were absolutely amazed after watching it and very happy.  Kelli is quite the gifted artist herself and she created all the artwork for their save the dates and invitations.  She even let us use some of it for their video!  This was a collaborative effort with my good friend and fellow filmmaker Matt Forrey.  He has his own video production company but shoots for Aqua Vivus Productions pretty regularly.  I (Tom) was in charge of the editing for this piece.  Press the play button, the pause it so it can load all the way before watching it.  If you like it, feel free to leave a comment below!

Illumination

I helped create this promotional piece for the Illumination Art Show.  Andrew Salituri, Mike Green, and Tim Eagerton helped with production, original concept, and design.  We planned to shoot the artists on a green screen but something fell through and we ended up shooting them against a black backdrop with a brown carpet floor.  In post-production I used After Effects CS4 to create the artificial environment with the floating "firefly" artists.  I used Trapcode Particular and Shine to make the thousands of floating orbs around the logo.  If you live in San Diego, check out this art show! Tyler + Emily Wedding Trailer

Yet another collaboration between STUDIOcastillero and yours truly!  We shot this in beautiful Carmel California near the Monterey Bay.  Emily and Tyler were so gracious, they even let us eat dinner with them in their hotel suite before the reception!  That made my day for sure.  For all you techie people reading, I shot this on a combination of the Canon 7D and 5D Mark II, a variety of lenses were used.  All the still photography of course comes courtesy of STUDIOcastillero.  Enjoy!
